A blaze ripped through a chemical plant in east China's Jiangxi Province Saturday evening, local authorities said.
No casualties have been reported after the fire broke out at about 7:30 p.m. at an organosilicon factory in Yongxiu County, according to the county's publicity department.
Workers have been evacuated soon after the fire, which rescuers feared might cause explosions.
Local authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.

The real estate market in east China's Zhejiang Province recovered in the last few months of 2014 following a series of easing measures.
In August, authorities in Zhejiang lifted restrictions that prevented residents from buying more than two homes. A month later, the central bank eased mortgage rules.
Property sales jumped 14.6 percent year on year to 26.3 million square meters in the August-December period, according to a report delivered to the annual session of the provincial legislature.
The strong recovery in the second half meant whole-year sales decline narrowed to 4.3 percent from 25.6 percent in the first quarter.
Investment in the property sector recovered modestly to 16.8 percent for the whole year from 16.2 percent in the first quarter, it added.

China's economic slowdown reasonable, investment globally critical

China is moving on the right path of economic transition and will remain a major contributor to global investment, foreign economic experts and business leaders have said.
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang returned to Beijing on Friday after attending the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in this Swiss ski resort, where he made a keynote speech explaining China's entry into a state of "new normal" and outlining its economic strategy and focus in 2015.[Special coverage]
Inspired by Li's remarks, Adam Posen, president of the Peterson Institute for International Economics, expressed his optimism about China's market opportunity based on its stable macro-economic outlook.
After decades of economic growth at a fast rate, Posen said, it is reasonable that the Chinese economy is undergoing a slowdown with a lower growth target in place, in a bid to achieve "more stable progress forward" on a more sustainable path.
Noting that China's economy will still maintain a growth rate of 6.5-7 percent in the coming years, Posen said China's economic stability, like that in the United States and the euro zone, is critical to the global economy.
He also expected a leap forward in productivity when China's private sector has more presence in the service industry.
"Premier Li gave an excellent picture of the Chinese economic outlook," said Roger Barnett, chairman and CEO of Shaklee Corporation, an American nutrition supplement manufacturer.
Under the "new normal" in its economic development, China remains a major powerhouse for investment on a global basis, Barnett said.
He added that China's economic reforms are beneficial to investors, especially those who want to create more job opportunities while protecting the environment.
"These reforms are welcome by the investor community and we are looking forward to them being implemented in a very short term," said Barnett, noting that his company is expanding its business in China.
The opportunities brought about by Chinese investors should be warmly embraced, said Mario Moretti Polegato, CEO of Italian shoe manufacturer GEOX, who met Li a month ago during Li's visit to Italy.
Many Chinese investors are interested in and looking for business opportunities in Italy, especially with small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) there, Polegato said.
Italian SMEs are known for their creativity and would produce very promising results if receiving investment from Chinese investors, he explained.
Commenting on China's economic transition, Philip Jennings, general secretary of Swiss-based UNI Global Union, said that there remains a great potential to be tapped into in China's domestic consumption.
"It is clear that the level of consumption in the overall economic activity of China is only about 30 percent," Jennings said. "If you look at other countries, it's close to 70 percent, so there's clearly much room for domestic consumption and development."

Beijing, Tianjin and eight cities in Hebei Province issued a yellow smog alert on Saturday.
Smog is forecast for central and southern parts of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area over the weekend, clearing up from Monday. During the period, the air quality index could exceed 300.
Factories will take emergency measures to reduce emissions while construction sites must control dust.
Beijing failed to meet a key pollution reduction target last year with annual average density of PM2.5 down only four percent, less than the five percent target, the city's mayor said on Friday. Hebei and Tianjin did a better job.
The average density of PM2.5 last year fell by 12 percent in 11 cities in Hebei and the average reading dropped by 13.5 percent in Tianjin.

Nissan Group of China has announced it would recall 48 cars on the Chinese mainland to fix a problem in front wheel hub.
The recall, starting from Jan. 27, involves 48 units of Infiniti QX60 manufactured between Aug. 12 and Oct. 9, 2014, according to a statement issued by China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ).
AQSIQ said the faulty bolt in front wheel hub may weaken braking force and cause accidents in extreme cases.
Meanwhile, another Japanese automobile giant Honda (China) started recalling 28 units of Acura RLX on the Chinese mainland from Jan. 23, which were manufactured between May 9, 2013 and July 23, 2014.
The administration said the recall was to fix the faulty front lights equipped with inferior coating that may cause dangers at nighttime.

The central and southern parts of north China will see intermittent smog in the coming three days, the national observatory forecast on Saturday.
The smog is expected to gradually weaken starting on Monday as a cold front is in sight to help disperse the pollution, according to the National Meteorological Center (NMC).
From Saturday to Monday, central and east China, as well as parts of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, will be swept by rain or snow, the NMC predicted.
Starting on Monday, a strong cold wave will hit most parts of central and east China, bringing temperature drops of up to 10 degrees Celsius and strong winds along the way, according to the NMC.
