Shanghai stock indices close higher Wednesday

China's benchmark Shanghai Composite Index on the Shanghai Stock Exchange closed at 2,940.01 points on Wednesday, up 2.93 percent.


A Share Index: 3,079.85 points, up 2.93 percent;


B Share Index: 282.87 points, up 2.84 percent;


Total turnover: 535 billion yuan ($87.37 billion).


Shenzhen stock indices close higher Wednesday


The Shenzhen Component Index on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange closed at 10,545.51 points on Wednesday, up 4.24 percent.


A Share Index: 12,227.09 points, up 4.24 percent.


B Share Index: 6,590.00 points, up 2.71 percent.


Total turnover: 326.15 billion yuan ($53.26 billion).
