A total of 1,558 stranded Chinese passengers have left the Republic of Korea's Jeju Island, after a Henna cruise liner was detained Friday by a local court due to legal disputes, Henna's owner said Monday.
HNA Tourism Cruise Yacht Management Co., Ltd., operator of the cruise liner, said in a posting on China's Twitter-like microblogging service Sina Weibo that the 7th plane carrying 149 passengers had departed Jeju International Airport at 18:48 Beijing Time.
The flight, the last one to carry stranded passengers from Jeju, was scheduled to arrive in Beijing at 21:09, the company said.
In all, 1,659 passengers and a crew of 650 were on board when Henna was detained on Friday by a Jeju court, which received a seizure application on claims of legal disputes from a subsidiary company of Jiangsu Shagang Group Co., Ltd.
The posting added that the remaining 101 stranded passengers will either return to China on the ship or go to Seoul.
An earlier posting by the company said Henna will sail back to China after going through customs clearance procedures.
