China is the most trustworthy friend of Malaysia, and Malaysia's ruling United Malays National Organization (UMNO) would like to continuously deepen its cooperation with the Communist Party of China (CPC), said Malaysian Prime Minister and UMNO President Najib Razak in Putrajaya on Friday.
During a meeting with Hu Chunhua, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial CPC Committee, Najib expressed his gratitude to the Chinese side for its strong support in the handling of the missing MH370 flight incident.[Special coverage]
The foundation of the Malaysia-China relationship is solid, he said, adding that UMNO would like to continuously deepen its cooperation with the CPC and promote the friendship between the two peoples.
Hu said the China-Malaysia relations have developed in a healthy and stable way since the establishment of their diplomatic ties 40 years ago.
He hoped that the two sides could grasp the opportunity of the construction of a maritime silk road in the 21st century to deepen their cooperation in all areas, strengthen the association between the two countries' ruling parties, and push the China-Malaysia ties to develop further.
Hu also said that China would like to keep its cooperation with Malaysia in searching for the missing plane in full strength.
On the same day, Hu Chunhua also met with former Malaysian prime minister Mahathir Mohamad, Minister of Defense and acting Minister of Transport Hishammuddin Hussein and UMNO secretary- general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor. He also attended the "China ( Guangdong)-Malaysia Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference."
