(ECNS) -- China Central Television (CCTV), the Chinese state broadcaster, launched an attack against the major mobile brands that use the Android operating system, including Xiaomi, Huawei, Samsung and Google.

The Weekly Quality Report program noted that loopholes in the Android system can be used by hackers to gain superuser access to people's phones.

The hackers are then able to steal money from users' mobile banking and block immediate notification of payments at the same time, the program said.

Researchers at Tsinghua University found the loophole in Xiaomi 2, Samsung Galaxy S4, Google Nexus and certain types of Huawei and Lenovo smartphones.

CCTV said smartphone and OS producers have the responsibility to take measures against the loophole to protect data safety.

Experts advised users not to access unencrypted WI-FI points that are not marked safe.
