10,000 wintersweets greet visitors in Henan

Wintersweets are heavily scented plants native to China that flower around Chinese New Year. They have been inspiring Chinese poets since the 11th-Century and were introduced to England in the 18th-Century.
Now, Wintersweets are being celebrated at the 15th biennial China Wintersweet and Plum Exhibition, with more than 10-thousand plants adorning the space and more than 50 exhibitors. The plums, meanwhile, come in a variety of colors - not just the usual red - and the oldest plum is around 100 years old.
Held every two years, the exhibition comes this year to Xuchang, in central China's Henan Province, and includes a photo display on plums. Coinciding with the opening of the Yanling National Flower and Plant Expo Park, this year's event runs until February 28.
