People watch two horses fighting in Rongshui Miao Autonomous County, Southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. About 20 horses from Miao villages attended the contest that attracted tens of thousands of spectators. The folk custom of horse-fighting originated from a solution to a marriage dispute about 500 years ago, according to local people. Now the ritual is held during festivals as a celebration.
