Zhao Miao, a senior official in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province, is under investigation for suspected severe violations of disciplines, the provincial anti-graft body said.
The Sichuan provincial committee for discipline inspection made the announcement on Saturday, but gave no details.
Zhao, born in 1959, is a standing committee member of the Chengdu municipal committee of the Communist Party of China, as well as the committee's organization chief.
