Farm produce prices in 36 major cities rose last week due to unseasonably cold weather in some regions.
From April 13 to 19, the average price for 18 monitored vegetables edged up 3 percent from a week earlier, led by Chinese cabbage, lettuce and celery, the MOC said in a statement.
Price of wheat flour remained flat, while rice rose 0.2 percent from the previous week. The price of aquatic products remained stable, while pork price inched up 0.3 percent from the previous week, said the MOC.
Food prices account for about one third of the China's consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation. The CPI gained 1.4 percent in March from one year earlier, below the government set target of 3 percent.
