美籍中国离退休人员可领国内退休金 需"健在证明"


今年下半年起，中华人民共和国驻纽约总领事馆许可在美国居住的中国离退休、退职人员也可与国内退休人员享受同等待遇。即使已入籍美国国籍，填写"健在证明"仍可领国内的养老金和公积金。




(ECNS) � Starting from the second half of this year, Chinese retirees living in the United States, including those who have obtained a U.S. green card or citizenship, can enjoy the same pension as their homeland counterparts, the Yangcheng Evening News reported on Wednesday, citing the Chinese consulate general in New York.


An applicant should file the necessary documentation -- a qualification review form for retirees living abroad who want to collect their pensions in China, both the original and a copy of their passport and certificate of legal residence in the U.S. -- to the Chinese embassy or one of the consulate generals in the U.S., which administers the applicant's community.


The applicant can go to the related embassy or consulate general in person to ask for the qualification review form, which also serves as proof that they are still living and in good health, as well as to file the required documents.


They can also entrust someone else to submit the documents. If they file the application by mail, they should add a Chinese note about "proof of (the applicant) being living and in good health" on the envelope. Otherwise, the mail could be rejected.
