A burning smell on a Metro Line 4 train in Shanghai caused concern among commuters during the morning rush hour today.
Commuters on the train running from Damuqiao Road to Dong'an Road said they could get a burning smell at about 7:45am.
"I started to smell the choking smell from Damuqiao Road Station. It felt like something was burning on the track," a netizen, Music_Junjun, posted on Weibo.
The problem was cleared about 10 minutes later. The Metro operator said that a device malfunctioned on the track. It said it was investigating further.
Trains from Xizang Road S. to Yishan Road were under a speed limit at that time. Normal operations started soon after.
