Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has given his speech at Syrian aid conference. He stressed the importance of a political solution to the Syria crisis. Wang Yi said China would provide more humanitarian aid to Syria and the Syrian people.
"On behalf of the Chinese government, I'd like to take this opportunity to announce that China will provide another ten thousand tons of food assistance to address the food shortage in Syria and its neighbouring countries," he said.
"We will continue to do whatever we can to help the Syrian people including overseas refugees, to contribute to the alleviation of the humanitarian crisis, and to play a constructive role in a political settlement of the Syrian issue."
