Two Chinese tourists have been killed and four other injured in a plane crash near Saipan Island in the western Pacific Ocean. Three injured tourists are still receiving treatment at a local hospital and are in a stable condition. A team from the Chinese government has arrived on the island and is coordinating with local officials to transfer the patients back to China, due to the poor medical condition on the island.
Their family members are in grief, but behave in strong. Now their major concern is to send their injured family members back to China for better medical treatment, since we all know the medical condition is limited here on Saipan. Yu Xiong, consul of Consulate-General of China in Los Angeles said.
The date for the patients return has not been confirmed. It depends on whether they can deal with the long haul flight. The two bodies of the victims will also be transferred back to China. The seven-seat small plane crashed at about 2 a.m.
Sunday local time, en route from Tinian to Saipan, the two biggest islands of the Northern Mariana Islands. Coast guards found the plane several hours later. The six Chinese passengers were from Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
