The education department of Liaoning province banned primary and middle school teachers from holding cram study sessions or giving extra classes off campus in a notice released on Monday, Shenyang Evening News reported on Tuesday.
据《沈阳晚报》周二报道,辽宁省教育厅周一发布通知,禁止中小学老师办补习班或给学生校外补课.
"补习班"的英文表达是cram study session,也可以表达为off-campus session或after-school session.此前黑龙江一名小学生写信说自己的老师白天不好好讲课,然后靠extra classes after school（放学后补课）来赚取高额补习费,这封信引起了全国的广泛关注.
中国目前的教育体制还是以exam-oriented education（应试教育）为主,因此和考试相关的training class（培训班）或cram school（补习班）都很赚钱.一些师资配套好的学校还向家长收取school selection fee（择校费）,辽宁省此前也明确禁止学校收取择校费.
