Explosives left in litter bin causes blast at NW China airport

A blast took place in the Caojiabao Airport in Xining, provincial capital northwest China's Qinghai province 1:45pm of Tuesday.


The explosive object was reportedly put inside a litter bin in the corner of the airport parking lot.


No casualties have been reported yet. Some cleaning workers were at the scene at time of the blast.


Police arrived on the scene in five minutes. All vehicles on the site had been removed while an investigation was still under way.
