A seven-day-old baby boy was killed yesterday when he was thrown out the window of an 11th floor apartment while his parents argued in Xi'an, capital city of Shaanxi Province, Xi'an Evening News reported.


Both parents are in hospital for treatment of possible mental problems, the report said. It wasn't clear who threw the newborn out the window.


The baby was thrown from the 11th floor of building No. 17 in a residential complex around 8am yesterday on Fengcheng Ninth Road in Xi'an.


A sanitation worker made an emergency call but the baby boy was dead when paramedics arrived, according to the report.
