Stargazers will get to see the moon turn coppery red during the total lunar eclipse early tonight (Wednesday, October 8, 2014).
The moon will be in full eclipse and turn the deep red color as the Earth passes directly between the sun and the moon.
According to astronomers, the eclipse will only be visible in its entirety from parts of eastern Australia, New Zealand, east Asia, the Hawaiian Islands and the western part of North America.
Officially, the eclipse begins at around 6:25 p.m. (Beijing Time) and ends at around 7:24 p.m.
The next lunar eclipse will take place on April 4, 2015.
