低俗文化
vulgar culture
Lijiang, an ancient town in Yunnan province, is to curb the use of vulgar publicity stunts related to sex that are used to promote tourism. People promoting their businesses by spreading "vulgar culture" at Lijiang's scenic spots will be severely punished.
坐落于云南省的古城丽江,将抵制用与性有关的低俗宣传噱头推动旅游.在丽江旅游景点用 "低俗文化"来宣传的商家将受到严厉的惩罚.
"低俗文化"即vulgar culture,近年来不少酒吧或餐馆为吸引游客（lure visitors）,经常用暗示一夜情的广告（advertisements suggesting one-night stands）,性暗示的广告噱头（publicity stunts with sexual innuendo）等低俗广告（vulgar advertisements）,对古城的传统文化（traditional culture）造成冲击.
1997年,联合国教科文组织将丽江评定为世界遗产（a World Heritage Site）,因低俗文化的横行,丽江被贴上了"艳遇之都"（the capital of romantic affairs）的标签.丽江市长表示,将对古城酒吧和客栈（pubs and inns）进行为期一个月的检查（a monthlong check）,继续使用不当宣传方式（improper promotional methods）的商家将被勒令关业.为保护传统文化,当地政府为鼓励居民继续居住在古城为其提供补助（offer subsidies）,张市长表示,古建筑的修复和维修项目（a restoration and maintenance project）也在进行中.
