刚刚结束的清明小长假本应是内地游客赴港旅游的旺季，但是今年旅游人数却遭遇"滑铁卢"。4月8日，香港特区行政长官梁振英表示，"反水货客"违法行为是导致内地及海外访港旅客人数全线下跌的重要原因。




(ECNS) -- Hong Kong plans to introduce discounts and other favorable policies to attract more visitors from the mainland following a drop in tourist numbers during the three-day Qingming Festival holiday.


The Hong Kong Tourism Board plans to launch a campaign that would benefit visitors from the end of this month, when China celebrates its May Day holiday.


Measures will include discounted gifts and coupons to travellers coming to Hong Kong at a specific period in time, according to Hu Zhaoying, the chairman of Hong Kong Travel Industry Council.


The Hong Kong Tourism Board has invited merchants from five industries - travel, hotels, retail, catering and scenic spots - to provide discounts from June to August.


Illegal acts against parallel goods traders have contributed to the drop in mainland and overseas tourists, said CY Leung, chief executive of Hong Kong.
