The world's fastest yacht, the Pallada from Russia, docked at the Olympic Sailing Center of Qingdao on Friday, to attend the coming 2015 Qingdao International Sailing Week.
During the four-day-stay in Qingdao, sailors of the Pallada will communicate with trainees of an international sailing camp, and play a football match against local college students, said the spokesman of the organizing committee of the sailing week.
Local citizens will have chances to go aboard the famous sailing vessel, the spokesman said.
The organizing committee held a warm welcome ceremony for Russian guests with lion dances and martial arts performance.
"This is my first time to be in China. I am very excited to see this beautiful seaside city and look forward to the scheduled events," said a young sailor of the Pallada.
Qingdao, venue of the sailing events of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, has staged the international sailing week for seven years since 2009, and the 2015 events will start on Saturday.
The Pallada, a large traditionally-rigged sailing vessel, is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the fastest sailing vessel in the world, with a speed exceeding 18 knots. It is a star sailing vessel in Russia, winning many international festivals and races.
