(ECNS) -- Apple is working on a News app to better adapt the new function in its latest iOS system to the Chinese market.
Apple's senior vice president for Internet software and services Eddy Cue revealed the plan in an interview with CNNMoney.
The company pre-installed the news aggregator in its iOS 9 system, with which Cue said it is aiming at "delivering quality content to end users" and setting up a convenient and "monetizable" distribution platform for publications.
The iOS 9 app has come across some problems in China, where many users report they are not able to load their customised content, saying the function is currently "unavailable in the region".
Cue dismissed suspicions over censorship by the Chinese government. "We know how to work in China. We have a great working relationship in the country," he said, adding "We follow the laws of the countries that we are in and we'll work with local and international news organizations that are available in China."
In fact, Apple is considering bringing more services to China as CEO James Cook has stressed the importance of the Chinese market many times. Its Music app entered China two month ago, and it's reported that Apple pay would be available in the country as soon as next year.
