(ECNS) -- A female rock climber spent two months painting a man's portrait on a cliff at a scenic spot in Xianju County, Zhejiang Province to express her love.
Lingling (a pseudonym), 37, from Jiaojiang District of Taizhou City, got to know Chen Kang (a pseudonym), who is an over-40-year-old member of the Xianju rock climbing team, during local climbing events.
Two months ago, Lingling began to paint the portrait on a steep cliff of the 218-meter-high Fanzheng Rock, an undeveloped site in the Shenxianju scenic area in Xianju, Taizhou.
She hung on ropes every weekend for two months to paint the portrait, which is about six to seven meters high and vividly colored.
It cannot be seen from the ground and can only be viewed by rock climbers, said a worker at the scenic spot.
The local administration does not send workers to patrol the undeveloped spot, so it knew nothing about the painting until photos were posted online.
According to another member of the Xianju climbing team, surnamed Wang, the woman used mineral pigments that last a long time.
"(She) didn't expect it to be found so soon," said Wang. "It was surely inappropriate to doodle on a scenic spot, but I was still moved by her courage to express true love."

Lingling promised she would remove the portrait as soon as possible.
